The mission of A Second Mile is to provide resources and outreach to children from broken homes by promoting educational enrichment, team work, as well as physical and emotional support that will build self confidence and develop responsible leaders for the next generation.
Angelia Watts
President/Founder
Passionate about serving community causes, Angelia is deeply driven by social impact, innovation, creativity and the power of audacity in making dreams come true. Inspired by organizations doing great work, she founded A Second Mile in 2013, out of her personal trials and triumphs of single parenting. She is currently employed in the Social Service industry and has served as a volunteer in creating and coordinating community outreach events and mentoring programs since 2009.

Jack Sapp
Vice President
Jack is a highly seasoned corporate executive and entreprenuer. His high energy and effective leadership help to generate the energy of A Second Mile. He has a deep appreciation for the work of non-profit organizations that are making a real difference in the lives of people. Jack strongly believes in the power of giving, both in his time and resources. He currently serves on the board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), and dedicates himself to serving humanitarian efforts locally and around the world.
Karen Hudson
Secretary
Karen shares a strong passion of mentoring through sports. Since 2008, she has worked as the executive director in a large non-profit organization ln the Inland Empire, which serves the community in the area of behaviorial health. She liberally utilizes her talent of foresight and instinct and is ready to execute a plan in any situation. Karen has served extensively in church leadership and her missionary work has taken her to the remote villages of Ghana, West Africa.
David Browder
Board Member
Devoted to the vision and mission of A Second Mile, David has an impressive background in the field of volunteerism and service to others. He has worked as a church leader and mentored in the faith based community for the past 21 years. Currently employed in the field of law enforcement, David's work has assisted in the establishment of numerous community outreach programs that have helped to provide resources and tangible assistance to families and children in need.
John Birdsong
Treasurer
John has served the non profit sector in a financial capacity for over 13 years. His experience working as the General Manager in a fortune 500 company for over 18 years has greatly attributed to his strong finanacial practices and organizational skills. John's measure of integrity and business ethics are deeply rooted in the core of A Second Mile, and serve as sound roots in the foundation of our organization. John and his wife, Saundra, are strong supporters of non profit causes (both public and faith based) in the US and Africa.
Fran Morris
Board Member
Fran Morris is a broadly experienced Real Estate investor and entrepreneur. With 14 years experience in the medical field, Fran has seized the opportunity to complete missionary work in both Mexico and West Africa. She is readily available to assist in causes that help to improve our community, and brings to the table a strong vision for strategy and outreach. Fran currently serves as the Director of Music in her church. Through her music ministry she helps to oversee outreach programs in the church as well as the community.
